Hisssss.....

...at least with somewhat older recordings is a sign that high frequencies are actually being passed. The noise profile of vinyl does not include "hiss". In this case at least, hiss is a plus.

And FWIW the oft-mentioned "pops and clicks" are pretty rare too.

"I would have given an arm in 1975 to have had something that recorded even as well as a CD@ 16/44.1." Hmmm... What do you suppose all the fuss is about then, over LPs from the Golden Era, roughly 1956-1978? Have you *really* compared them to the CD issues? I'm guessing, not.

My desire would be to have CDs that sound as good as LPs from that era, but it will never happen.
