There a two ways to look at this

First, the young folks who are (to some extent) flocking to LPs were mainly MP3 listeners who prefer the sound of vinyl over MP3.

Secondly, that those folks are basically oontent with MP3 and are picking up vinyl for its retro chic.

Of course, the two aren't mutually exclusive, but neither is a necessarily an indictment of CD sound.
