That's just it - not everything is great and unfortunately a lot of the stuff that is very good is not a household mainstream name. To be able to stay in business you have to sell what people want - you can't get away from supply and demand.

I commend Soundhounds for having stayed with vinyl the entire time - at least 6 turntable makers and many others have been sold there even through the lows of vinyl - but the reality is they had to sell CD players to stay in business. They still in this age have managed to NOT sell LCD and plasma. But even here they had to break down and have a theater room - but at least they buy top end front projectors and do the home installs.

They carry the stuff they believe in but they have to put food on the table. You can't just sell turntables for example. So they carry their cherished stuff - they carry stuff they think is good value for the dollar and that can sell - but as they note - some stuff is to own and some stuff is to sell.

I see no problem with that. If you don't ask them they won't say - if you do they will. That's as honest as it gets. Unlike some Vancouver dealers who carry one or two speakers and hard sell it as the best things in the world. Trouble is Soundhounds carries the exact same company and because it's not the only brand they don't need to PUSH PUSH PUSH it on everyone - they can say hey listen to these 12 high end speaker makers youreself and you pick which one you like. And they make the best damn Cappuccinos in town while you listen.
