My dealer has been selling turntables and never stopped - they sell at least 6 lines of turntables. When you walk in you see thousands of records along the walls and you don't see Televisions. As he pointed out most of the other places changed from hi-fi shops to TV salesmen (home theater). Granted they have finally begrudgingly made one room a front projector home theater and they have pro installation but no LCD kinda things. It's a throwback hi-fi shop with salespeople who have been there 30-35 years.

They don't have to hard sell anything because unlike every other dealer I've ever been to they carry so many lines that the customer is bound to like something all on their own.

I said once that if I were going to run a hi-fi shop I'd want to carry what I felt was some of the best stuff available - that stuff sells itself. I can listen to the top Quad panel, the top Magnepan panel, the B&W 800 Diamonds, upper Sonus Faber, several Audio Note speakers, Martin Logan, Paradigm, Reference 3a, and we have not even got to the stuff in the back. Amplifiers - eesh too many t list but I'd say at least 10 upper scale brands and turntables> Audio Note, Linn, Oracle, Pro-Ject, Rega, Dual, NAD. And they actually know how to set them up and repair them

Every other dealer I know of carries maybe one turntable line and usually Rega because it's a household name and they can move it. Doubtful they know how to set it up or care the least bit about them.

I agree with you about not trusting dealers but if there is one out there Soundhounds in Victoria is the one.
