RE: Vinyl analysis -- Musicians rate CD vs. LP sound in blindfold test

There might be a grain of truth in the observation that new music sounds better on CD and old music sounds better on LP. 1960s/70s pop/rock was recorded and mastered in the analog domain. CD reissues of old pop/rock music sounds very different from the original records like they made a completely new mix. The few new records i have (Stones/Bigger Bang) don't sound very good to me. I hear digital HD recording and lots of compression. Might as well download it.
