RE: Vinyl analysis -- Musicians rate CD vs. LP sound in blindfold test

A quick read of the article seems to suggest the advantages the LP has are things like "not" being crystal clear, being warm and fuzzy, having obvious hiss and such examples of "comfortable" or familiar flaws, not, that it was more faithful to the original.

It would be more informative (and realistic) if they had musicians both play the music and evaluate it after recording so that they had an actual first hand reference to go on as well (instead of an open ended observation). Having recorded with Tape and digital in cd and dvd formats, I have heard the difference in that situation.

Perfect sound forever, ha, thats just empty marketing talk.
Nothing is perfect, nothing is forever but i would have given an arm in 1975 to have had something that recorded even as well as a CD@ 16/44.1
Sure LP's are romantic and all but if there is any doubt (and if your interested) try recording things yourself.
Like with home astro-photography and countless other things, the technology we have now "for home" makes it a whole new game.
