Obvious, you already have a DAC. It is build into the Marantz. You might try an external DAC: PC > USB > DAC > RCA > Marantz but I doubt if this will yield an audible improvement. .......

It doesn't exist. MP3 is 16/48 max. However, to play it, it must be decoded to raw PCM. This is what any media player does but any format converter can do this to. So decode the MP3 to PCM and encode .......

As far as I know, USB to SPDIF converters don't resample. You set your media player to send 16/44.1 to the USB converter and it will deliver 16/44 SPDIF .......

MS did optimize 10 a bit for audio. Latency has improved. But if you don't have latency issues, why bother? I do think 10 a bit more crisp than 8.1 I run 10 without issues audio wise. SQ wise I don't .......

Most portables support 64 or even 128 Gb SD cards I do think this a bit small the moment one loads lossless files. Almost all of my audio is lossless but for the portable I simply convert to 320 kbps .......

Probably all you have to do is enable it in WMP You have to point WMP to your audio files on the PC If it is FLAC is probably won't play WMP is said to downsample your artwork to 250*250 Might automat .......

You might try different media players e.g. MusicBee but your best bet is to try different drivers. As you have JRiver you can try a couple of options like WASAPI, Memory playback .......

The answer is AccurateRip I’m not on a Mac but as far as I know, XLD supports it. If the rip is correct, it is correct no matter how much noise, vibrations, etc the optical drive produces. ::: TOPIC:: .......

An obvious first is using ripping software supporting AccurateRip It will tell you when a CD or the optical drive is failing you. You might have a look at the dbPoweramp accuracy list .......

I'm a bit surprised by the hump in the frequency response of the vinyl close to 24k and the corresponding band, some relative high energy there The DSD looks like any DSD64, lots of quantization noise .......
