This has nothing to do with the audio driver (ASIO, WASAPI, DS, etc).
UAC1 is limited to 2 channel / 24 bits / 96 kHz PCM
If you want to play higher sample rates you need a UAC2 driver.
UAC2 is standard in Mac and Linux from mid 2010 on, hence plug and play
Up to today we need to install a third party driver if we want > 96 kHz on Windows.
