As you are talking Mac, I assume you need a Toslink output.
As far as I know all Mac's have an audio jack doubling as Toslink.

Toshiba is an alternative, indeed Toslink was invented by Toshiba
If you go to http://us.toshiba.com/ and search for SPDIF you get a list of models featuring Toslink
Starting at $ 525

Another option is a USB to SPDIF converter. No PC without a USB port :)
