Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Crazy Impractical? Ripping & Purging Physical Media

1. Ripping takes time
It does. With the right tools like dBpoweramp probably 5 minutes
You don't have to idle, you just can work on your PC in the process
2. Acquiring cover art/liner notes may add still more time
No, most of the time dBpoweramp finds the right cover art
I don't bother with linernotes

3. Requires money for a quality, reliable hard drive
Really? There are very few manufacturers left. Don't think they differ much
Euro 50 buys you 1TB

4. Requires even more money for a backup drive
Add another 50

5. Requires time to do all of that
It does, once every 5/6 minutes you inspect the result and load a new CD. That's all
