2 persons want to add to the collection
The collection is on a NAS.
Beware: I'm not familiar with OSX .
https://www.macworld.com/article/2996002/streaming-media/how-to-set-up-an-itunes-library-on-a-network-attached-server.html
This article explains how to move audio to a NAS when using iTunes.
If you point all instances of iTunes on the MACs to this data , probably each user can add/edit, etc the collection.
They all can play it as well
I expect iTunes to sync between its database and the audio so edits made by A will be seen by B as well
Beside de audio you can move the iTunes library to the NAS as well.
In this scenario all instances of iTunes use the same library
I don't know if A en B can work simultaneously on the same library.
Something you can simply try
If this works you share everything in the lib like playlist, etc.
For playback there is another option, Airplay
Synology can act as an Airplay server.
This allows all Apple device to play using this server.
Like all streaming protocols, it is read only.
You cannot use Airplay for edits, rippeng, etc.
