The only other thing that I can think off,is that the armboard is incorrect for a rega type arm,bearing in mind that you have had a previous similair problem. .......

Had a couple of DL304's all with rega based arms with no problem. You could make sure that the serrated washer is square when tight to the armbase or remove it. .......

Consider the latest Origin Live range,Illustrious/Conquerer.Track superbly and look gorgeous in a laid back sort of way(chrome and piano black). Many reviewers prefer the OL's to the SME's in their mk .......

Had a similair problem,arm occasionally kept sticking,different lps,different tracks.I then re-addressed the arm lead so it was 90 degrees to the rear of the turntable,tracks fine now. .......

Just set up a mates GR2,simlair problem.What I done was gently let the arm slide down your hand/finger to set vta approx.Once some weight has been applied it becomes easier,we got there in the end. Yo .......

What I have found is that first pressings of vinyl releases(UK) are superior to re-issues,more open and better highs in most if not all cases.The only one that differs from the above in my experience .......

Had Gyro,Gyro-orbe,Orbe now Orbe se and not had your problem.As suggested a breakdown of the deck and re-balance seems/may be the problem. Also top up oil if necessary while your at it,I presume your .......

Don't forget the SE Gyrodec,looks better than the full blown acrylic version(looks better,more modern,less overall size)and arguably sounds better.(IMO) And will/should cost a few hundred dollars less .......

I sometimes get those very small white lines after a clean and find with carefull rubbing(cotton wool bud) they can be easily removed.Also by playing the track can remove them,if this does'nt work,try .......

If you hav'nt already done so,consider blu-tac-ing the armboard spacers,metal or plastic. Make six approx 1ml give or take, o-rings,one top/bottom of spacer,tighten down until they just pinch and rele .......

I put some LP's on top of the machine not noticing the lid was slightly up,I can only assume it happened this way due to the wand and spring mechanism still being in the up position,if that makes sens .......

Fair point,but as most of us have half decent equipment it defeats the object when buying inferior recordings. Take the Beatles as an example,most of the UK originals(if not all)are superb recordings( .......

A couple of weeks ago I posted that I blutacked the inner spring covers of my Orbe. The resultant sound was still dynamic but dullish,so I left them off,which livened up the sound considerably. Howeve .......

How old is your Orbe? The reason I ask is that there was a problem with resonance with the older type of "Armboard" spacers,they were made of metal. The later A/B spacers are made of black acrylic or .......

On the inside of the metal covers,however I listened for a couple of hours earlier and have now taken them off as it dulled the sound a little. Now they are coverless and its brought more life to the .......

My Argo done the same,but not as drastic,as soon as you lowered the stylus dragged on to the 1st track and this was set up by a dealer.Adjusted the bias myself,now ok. Agreed, great cartridge. ::: TOP .......

Your UK pressing is it the Vertigo label Yellow (Orig) or the blue spaceship re-issue label? The yellow label IMO is by far the better,the re-issue blue label is laid back and less dynamic,again IMO. .......

Stock RB300 is better than a stock RB250 as it should be. However, a Modded RB250 outperforms a modded RB300,something to do with the bearings I believe,you may already know this? .......

Depending on how dirty the record is I normally give it a mild washing up liquid pre-clean,I use a natural sponge for this.I do this so there is very little crap left to harm the felt wand on my VPI 1 .......

I had to do that with my Orbe when I placed T/T on some rubber feet(glass shelf,to stop it slipping) On the Orbe the drive belt should be in the centre of the side of the platter(or as near as dammit) .......

There are two types of Michell clamps one is threaded which is for the Orbe,which has a threaded spindle top,this may? be the problem. .......

Don't mind me butting in,but there are two types of Michelle clamps,one,the dearer one has a thread,the other has'nt. The threaded one is for use on the Orb(e),just a thought. .......

Did'nt really answer your question,although I hav'nt recorded on it for a long,I have an Aiwa AD-F800 and the recordings have been fine.It must be at least 12 years old now,with no problems whatsoever .......

I've always found that if the cassette deck is half decent and your amp/tt are of good quality the recordings are fine,obviously not up to tt/amp standard. .......

Yeah, they do work,I've had one for years,the first time I used it a whitish grey powder was left on the pad,it vibrates the crap of the stylus. Unfortunately they are not made now,but they do turn up .......

Linns are now not considered the best pound for pound nowadays in the UK. I have a Michell Orbe,which has a more neutral sound and once set up thats it.Consider a Gyrodec,others will probably disagree .......

A good arm to consider is the RB250 which can be modded,the then performance is outstanding for the cost,don't buy a RB300 as in MODDED form the RB250 out-performs the RB300,do a search in your addres .......

The problem with LP12's is that they are an old design(30yrs?)and as no doubt improvements have been made over the years,they ar'nt considered top of the pile now(pound for pound).They also need tunin .......
