I get on well with a couple of local Charity/Thrift shops and over here in the UK there run by women,probably the same in the US and elsewhere.
Chat em up and suggest that you will pay twice there normal asking price,if you can have a look first,before they go out into the shop.
This normally works and at the end of the day you will probably end up paying the normal price anyway,but if anything decent turns up(its usually 99.9% crap)I'll give them more.
You'll also be getting one over the dealers,who I know do this anyway at some shops.
