The problem with LP12's is that they are an old design(30yrs?)and as no doubt improvements have been made over the years, they ar'nt considered top of the pile now(pound for pound). They also need tuning relatively frequently, whereas others don't and apparently give a boppy sound(not neutral)
I have a Michell Orbe and prior to that a Gyrodec, which have a neutral sound, both may be out of your pricerange second hand, they have a neutral sound and once set up thats it.
I'm not saying buy a Michell or not to buy a Linn, just do some research when you have the money for a diffrent T/T and obtain reviews/advice in your pricerange.
