In this last post you make a point that you with your shotgun probably eat duck and I with my hammer probably don't. You essentially acknowledge that your firearm greatly improves if not fully enables your ability to take out a duck at distance at a rapid rate at no significant cost or risk to you. But you can't see how this enhanced ability also enables bad behavior, especially impulsive bad behavior. And there's the equating of all potentially lethal weapons to a firearm. What happened to the old proverb "don't take a knife to a gunfight"?
Guns in isolation don't kill people. People without weapons kill people with some difficulty. People with simple weapons kill people with less difficulty. People with guns kill people with ease.
Ultimately you are correct: further discussion not warranted.
