A guy I work with has a Crown Macro-tech, he says he used to use it as an ultra-adjustable laboratory power supply. He'd feed in a 60Hz sine wave, jack the volume all the way up, and the thing would output a perfect 120V AC @ 60Hz. Not a whole lot of current available, but he was testing low-power digital gizmos anyway. Those Crown amps are built like tanks, inside and out.
