RE: Advise on SET + single driver setup

I run circa 2W in a smallish, but not tiny, room. When listening to tones, bass is clearly present at 25Hz and by 30Hz (maybe less) is fully in play.

The bass keeps up with the rest of the music, is good enough to tell whether skins are tight or loose, and an effortless flowing quality to it - better I think than when I use a 50W arc welder, which sounds tighter, but somewhat mechanical. Sure, max volume is not nearly as high at 2W versus 50W but my ears are approaching overload as the amp runs out of juice.

Just my experience.

Edit: of course, weak driver in a little box powered by gobs of low-impedance Watts will sound different to a powerful driver in large box powered by a few high-impedance Watts... both can be satisfying, but folks can have a preference for one approach over the other.
