I understand, but I wish the policy that was strictly enforced was just regarding ad hominem.

Maybe you feel you've already given it a try and it failed, and/or maybe part of the problem is the kind of software issue that prevents deleting specific posts as opposed to whole threads. But I wonder if you just made it crystal clear that mature, adult expression of political differences and discussion of current events is ok but ad hominem will not be tolerated would work.

However, in thinking about that I do see that adequate and even-handed enforcement would require a lotta vigilence by you or whoever mods on the forum. Hmm. I can see how that might be unreasonable considering modding Central is not a paying full time job.

Ok, I give up :-)
