...the 'cop' did not know..even after finding out who mr. gates was..that there wasn't ...still...robbers in the house that even mr. gates didn't know about..after all...he was told by his dispatcher that '2 black men' were seen breaking into the house'that is why he asked him to step outside..he was potentially keeping him out of any danger from possibly more then one other person inside the house..mr gates is the one who made this a racial issue by bringing up the white-black issue..the policeman never mentioned it at all..mr gates was the problem not the policeman..he was simply doing what he was trained to do..regardless of 'WHO' mr gates was/is ...when the audio transcripts of this episode come out my guess is that the only one using the race-card is going to be mr gates...what..for instance..would be happening in the news if there were 2 other robbers in the house and the policeman would not have done his job and they would have killed mr gates in their robbery...the blacks would certainly be yelling for his head for not doing his job stating he should have investigated the situation more...most people in this country only want to see the police when 'they' are in trouble...
