Re: Agreed, no debate.

Paully, your education provides a basis for understanding the economic and capital implications of political policy. I like to think I have a working understanding too, as a former venture capital investor.

***Honestly, you have absorbed the Democratic talking points but there is a lot more to it.***

My point isn't about political party affiliation. It is to stimulate thought about the consequences of current policy. From where I stand, the consequences are not encouraging:

- On Sept 12 2001, virtually the entire world identified and grieved with Americans. Presently, our global standing is tarnished, to put it kindly. Please refer to my post below about living in a networked, connected world. This endangers all Americans.

At the end of the day, I was curious if others shared my concern for America. I suppose it comes down to priorities. Mine are:
- American interests first
- Be a good neighbor and contributor in the world community
- Fiscal discipline
- Individual choice
- Non-intrusive government
- Create an environment that encourages and rewards individual initiative
- Provide a safety net for those less fortunate and less capable

I prefer to identify with these principals, not with one party or the other. It just happens that GOP used to embrace more of these principals than the Dems, and now they have abandoned those very same principals. There is a thought-provoking article in the current Economist about this issue. You might enjoy the article.

But to put this into political terms, I supported W in 2000. His policy since then, has done more to endanger America, based upon my priorities, than any political leader in recent momory.
