I'd take it more seriously had I not been hearing it for decades. It could happen. But it never has. You seem very sure it will happen. But it very well might not happen.
There was a time during the Cold War when people were more worried about nuclear war. If I had to propose a doomsday scenario, given human history and the ubiquity of war, given the horrible power of the current weapons, I'd fear that. War in general would be really bad. We've had many decades of peace- our current wars are remote and seemingly painless except for the few who actually fight.
So if I were the type to worry much about things, that's what I would worry about. There are always measures to be taken, stockpiling food and arms, etc. But I don't do much of that. Like hyperinflation, the probability seems remote.
