some thoughts

Assuming this is real, that is Homeland Security looks into these kinds of things...the message concerns YOU being hacked, not them.

If somehow they detected malware on your computer when you logged in, this malware could easily take snapshots of your screen and send it off the the Ukraine or Nigeria. This is on your computer. It has nothing to do with government computers, which are simply giving you the data you request.

What makes me suspect this is NOT real is that if indeed some agency detected malware on your system, why did they not display a warning at the time before showing you information?

And you say you've checked and found no malware, so it seems unlikely a remote website could do a more thorough check and detect something you have not.

But- should you worry? Of course. Personal information is gotten any number of ways, and you should never assume yours is unknown to the criminals. I have strong protection for 7 years with the credit agencies (Transunion, Equifax and Experian), which requires a police report, but you can do a shorter fraud alert at all three whenever you want. You can also set up safeguards so that credit cannot be used without your authorization. And you should have pins on your bank accounts and strong passwords on any account you use online. I know my social security number is out there; you should just assume the same.
