Hello,
Yesterday my wife's daughter ( Sue , age 27 ) got in a heated argument with her neighbor. The neighbor lady has called the police several times because of noise and cars parked in front of her house that were visiting Sue.
Durring the argument the neighbor called Sue filthy names such as whore etc... and stood inches away from her face as she shouted these obsenities at her. Sue who has a bit of a temper shouted back and said these words " You have made my life miserable, now I'm going to make yours miserable"!) Sue was in the neighbors front yard when this took place. Then she went back to her own house when the argument was over.
The neighbor called the police. The neighbor claimed she felt threatened and insisted on a citizens?/ arrest. They hauled Sue away and booked her for making a Terrorist Threat.
This is a Federal offense and bail was $50,000
We bailed her out at a cost of $5000 which we will never see again.
We are perplexed and don't understand the law in this case, was this a legitimate charge? Can a person just say so and so ... and then have you hauled off to jail?This is all the info we have as far as the circumstances of the event.
