In the past BlackICE has failed LeakTest, a firewall test posted on the Web (see below). Instead of enhancing the product, the publishers of BlackICE then tweaked it to specifically scan for the IP address used by LeakTest, to make it appear to pass.The circumstances of this was several years ago, and perhaps today’s product is fine. However, it was enough to make me lose confidence in BlackICE (I was using it at the time) and question the way they do business. I now use a hardware firewall plus Tiny Personal Firewall.
