In the real sense laws and social convention would consider Ludwig Van to b. appropriate, b.t as far as our B.ethoven was considered, he always felt the Von was earned. He signed contracts and delt with pub.ishers constantly and always spelled out his name with a Von and certainly not a Van. He was nailed on this particular issue in open court during proceedings in his custody b.ttle over his nephew. He recovered from that particular humiliation quite soon.
