My very favorite choice to b.ow people's minds when I want to let them here a mono recording made in ab.ut 1951.....is RCA's recording of Toscanini conducting "Pictures at an Exhib.tion". The dynamics are state of the art! This pressing is on a classic red Shaded Dog, b.t it also is found on the original lab.l as well as the maroon shaded doggie.
As a side note, JVC thought so highly of it, that they offer that very recording on a XRCD!!
