RE: Playing the "Ivories" for the past couple....................

THe Red Angels are definately UK pressed. It was during the year of 1957.....the same year EMi aquired American Capitol records and all EMI records b.gan b.ing pressed in America's pressing plants and NOT in fantastic UK pressing plants......the home of 33CXs and ALPS......and later the stereo SAXs and ASDs!!! Look for "Made in England" on the lab.ls. If the record in question isn't made in the UK, they're b.ing pressed in the USA and the quality of the recordings are b.t a sad memory. All stereo Angels were pressed in America. American Angels ceased to b. made with the original master tapes.

UK Decca, on the other hand continued to press London "B.ueb.cks" through 1963-64 in merry old England. I read Culshaw's b.ok. I saw NO evidense that convinces me otherwise.

It appears that wherever the original EMI recordings were made....they stayed put. Notice that French EMI never let go of their master tapes. That's why French Columb.as sound so fantastic!!
