I have 2 of these.Both are gold bodied. One is an xv-15 625e and one is simply an xv-15. I tried to compare them as best I can. I have several original headshells for my SL-1200 Technics. I setup two the same and used the same stylus, switching back and forth. I can hear only a SLIGHT difference.The non-625 seems to have clearer highs and slightly lower sensitivity. There could be many reasons why this seems to be. Could be different assembly, materials, design, quality control(i.e. made on a Friday afternoon or a Monday morning), or truly they do have a different internal design.
Needless to say both are wonderful sounding and will stay in my collection.
