RE: SOTA Sapphire turntable question

The manual is available at vinylengine.com. As others have mentioned, this is really necessary when you set up a Sota.

I owned a Sota Star for 15 years, it's basically a Sapphire with vacuum hold-down. The best thing I did over that timesframe was when I finally upgraded the tonearm from a Sumiko FT-4 to an Origin Live Encounter and at the time relace the composite arm board with a Cosmos armboard. Using the same cartridge, it was a phenomenal improvement.

If you are replacing the tonearm, consider upgrading to the Cosmos arm board and have it drilled for a family of tonearms that you might stick with (for future upgrades). If you have already selected your new tonearm, you'll need to have it drilled for that one of course.
