Ridiculous. Do you think I've only had the NAD phono stage for all these years? Have you not read the thread? I've been through countless phono stages and own several, tube and solid state. The quality of the Shure cartridges remains the same with each of them. The NAD 1020A is not hard or harsh. It's neutral, robust, and lacking in transparency...but a reasonable, listenable resting place for the time being. I've been doing this far too long to make a stupid mistake like basing all of my cartridge comparisons around a single phono stage, so please don't worry.
So did you specifically have the 1020A?
