Lyra Lydian Beta Set-up Tips?

Just received my brand new Beta. Kind of a homely thing, 'specially with that sliver of toilet paper stuck to its shoe. Hopefully it's got a great personality! A search of the old posts strongly suggests that the Beta is quite finicky to set-up & even small adjustments can significantly effect its sound. The cart is mounted in an SME 309 & is being used with a VPI HW19 MKIII. I'd sincerely appreciate if any Beta users could share their experiences with me regarding VTA, VTF, loading(using a Black Cube), or anything else about the cart I ought to know. Also, is it OK to use RRL's LP#9 cleaner on the thing? I have an electronic cleaner as well (Signet); is the stylus sturdy enough to handle the vibrations? Thanks much.
