True. You need a lower gain somewhere either with your phono stage or line stage. You get 24dB or 29dB with the Cinemags. My gains add up to 20dB+24dB+29dB=73dB, but I really need to be around 63dB. I'm maxed @ 9 o'clock. My speakers are fairly high @ 97dB.
