Stanalog still manufactures and distributes the Well Tempered Record Player and Reference models. These are American made. I also have an LP12 but bought a WTRP last summer as part of a plan to build a system of American made, entry level products. Art Dudley gave it a positive review in Stereophile a couple years ago, and I find it more musically involving than my LP12 (admittedly aging as I bought it in 1993 and with just the Basik power supply and Ittok LVIII arm).
What would be interesting would be for someone, or some audio publication, to compare the Amadeus with the current WTRP. Both sell at about the same pricepoint. I believe the current WTRP is better than older versions as it now has the same motor and line conditioning module as the Reference. The Amadeus wasn't out when I was shopping, and it didn't fit my system goals anyway, but I was able to read about its design. Some aspects of the WTRP (such as the platter bearing and belt design, and the ability to adjust overhang and offset angle) make more sense to me, but a comparative listening session would sure be nice.
