no, there is definitely an optional finger lift that mounts to the arm. I just opted to not attach it. and, if you go through the process of mounting the arm to the pillar, and filling the well with silicon, and THEN try and attach the finger lift, you have to readjust everything (obviously), because it loads the weight to one side. most WT users (from talking with them over the years) don't use finger lifts anyways - instead just grabbing the arm tube directly. hope this helps clarify any confusion my inability to adequately explain things may have caused.
