I had to rebuild my TD124 motor a few months ago and I referred to Steve's site and got some great support from Pete in doing so. Besides the motor rebuild, I cleaned the stepped pulley bearing, idler bearing and re-lubed. Using the gel mounts also.
How quiet should the motor be after all the tweaking? The best I can get is what I call a slight rushing wind noise from the motor with my ear basically right up against the upper motor shaft. From four feet away the noise is gone. Normal?
I just noticed the other night that the noise has increased. Just to step back a bit after my motor rebuild the motor ran fast and I had to move the magnet in to achieve proper speed. With the brake totally out it's pretty quiet. Now as I increase the braking to dial in the speed the noise increases. Any suggestions to fix this? The belt looks to be the original. Voltage in- 117VAC.
This might be a tough one.
