Hello,
I had a bit of a marathon listening session with my good condition Garrard 301 yesterday. It rests in a laminated base of Russian birch ply and MDF venneered as shown.
It is effectively sealed with the base contoured to fit the inner workings. Things were getting quite hot. Do you provide for air circulation by boring through to the bottom with say, a 3" hole at the motor location ? I was thinking if doing this as the temp. rise was quite significant. The motor has been taken apart cleaned and lubed. Ditto for the grease bearing.
Thanks for any advice.
AJ
