Just how critical is MC "Fluxbusting"?

Do all you MC cart owners utilize demagnetizing devices? Most of these chochkes currently on the market are rather pricy. I know the Cardas LP is alleged to work, but, from what I can glean, with questionable effectiveness. Can I get away without using one of these things for my Benz M0.9 or is periodic fluxbusting absolutely necessary. Opinions greatly appreciated.
