Rewiring tonearm- Soldering technique needed please.

Greetings- Curious if anyone had a shurefire method of soldering the four new wires to the tonearm socket (SME 3009 style)without overheating and ending up with a "sticky" pin. I was considering using an old headshell clamped into the socket to act as a heat sink and at the same time move the soldering "point" a bit further away from the meltable plastic that the sprung pins are set into. Only problem with this is that more of the pin is exposed and perharps susceptable to being contaminated with the solder. What about a hemostat clamped onto each pin (one at a time), to act as both a heatsink and to protect the pin from solder as well? Also, does anyone know of a source for these tonearm sockets as well as the corresponding headshell mating pin unit? I'd like to scratch build a few headshells. I tried Jelco in Japan and they said that they no longer supply the small tonearm parts. Thanks very much, regards, wpod
