My p3 starts perfectly by giving the platter a manual swing and push the button to start the motor after this. Furthermore, I keep it spinning while changin records, just like the manual recommends and there aren't any problems. It's just no pitch-controlled 808 State, it's a machine with a manual.Only replace the belt when it's worn-out,
