Thanks John. I know about your set-up with the DL-103R from previous posts and I was looking for your help with this. I was thinking about the AT cartridge also. My DL-103/Uwe sounds so much better on my Empire 98 tonearm. The res. freq. is 8HZ. The Empire's effective arm mass is at least 20grams from my calculations.
On my Grace G840-F the 103/Uwe sounds hard, with less detail and quite a bit less open. It really was quite a let down for me. It's like some of the life was sucked out of the 103/Uwe. On the Empire arm the 103/Uwe sound so good. Spooky at times. One more thing, I have a Denon DL-103FL (6N gold plated copper wire coils) that should be similar to the 103R that I also use. I like the 103/Uwe cartridge more, it has that special effortless sound that flows so easy. Have you tried the Uwe with your 103R?
What is the real compliance of the 103's compared to other low compliance cartridges out there? More like 10?
