FR-64S

How long did it take you to find the FR64S? The Empire 98 tonearm on my 298 TT sounds wonderful with the DL-103/Woody and DL-103fl. My calculations puts the 98 at over 20g effective mass. I want to go heavier and I've been eying a FR64S. How long did it take for you to find one?

I tried a Grace G-840F on the Empire and it doesn't come close the the heavier 98. It was like listening to a really nice CD player. I can only imagine what the 103's would sound like on the FR or Schick tonearm.

Yes, you have to dampen the plinth on the Empires and even the platter a bit. I've also installed lead bars on inside of the base to mass it out some more. I wouldn't sell the 598 either.
