Hi guys, could use some advise. I recently decided to go to a step-up transformer (Denon AU-340) to use with my Benz L2 Wood, as I felt that my Simaudio Moon LP5.3 phono amp, while it sounds great, has too much hum/noise at the higher MC gain levels. So I set the 5.3 to low gain, and everything seems to work well.
Here is my question - what should I set the impedance on the Simaudio at? I had set it back to 47kohm, figuring that is what the transformer would have been designed to "see". But is that right? Used just with the 5.3, the Benz sounds best at 470 ohms. Should I have left it there, or was chaning it to 47K the right call?
Thanks!
