Rewiring SME 3009 II with Cardas Wire - Questions

Greetings- Firstly, the "anti-ring lining" is not present in my armtube. I believe that I read somewhere that this is a piece of balsa wood with a channel cut into it for the wires to sit,is this correct?. The four Cardas wires are bundled and shielded, unlike the original Linn tonearm wires. Question: Should I obtain or make, an "anti ring lining" and just mount the Cardas shielded wire to sit inside of it, or is the lining unnecessary because of the shielded wire? Highly unlikely, but would there be any reason to remove the jacket and shielding from the Cardas wire before installing? And lastly, if I use the shielding on the Cardas wire, should I ground the shield at one point where the 5th wire (tonearm ground) connects to the "screening can " assembly? Thanks very much for your help, Regards, wpod
