Acetone is the correct solvent for epoxy resins (not 'laquer thinner' which isn't strong enough). If the headshell is just a natural metal finish, soaking as BB suggests is a good idea. Otherwise, you can fill an insulin syringe/hypodermic needle w/ acetone (it won't dissolve the syringe ;-) and with the headshell on it's back, start a small bead of acetone at the front of the cartridge/headshell joint, and keep feeding acetone to keep it wet. Eventually, it will capillary between the cartridge and headshell and you can remove the cartridge. The trick is keeping wet acetone in the joint at all times. If you allow it to dry out (which it does fast!) the epoxy will harden right back up! Bummer!
