Vinyl Asylum Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ. |

After years of using the overachieving Monolithic phono preamp, I decided to upgrade a few months ago to the LP 5.3. I wanted a SS phono pre that had balanced outputs so I could take advantage of my Krell linestage's balanced inputs. I also wanted a little bit more refined sound.
The MOON provides all of that, and then some. It's a truly excellent phono preamp. I was actually kind of startled at how much of an improvement it was. It provides totally noiseless gain for my Benz Wood L2. It's just slightly warm of neutral, but still nicely detailed. It's an easy recommendation.
I haven't been very active on Vinyl Asylum over the last couple years, because I have been so busy, but I've been reading some over the last week or so. Glad to see lots of people still around, and lots of vinyl still being spun!
