Seems very high. Of course the numbers on A-S adjusters may not be a whole lot accurate either.
I adjust A-S by ear somewhat like the author recommends in the article linked below - there are other contributions in the Audio FAQ suggesting setup by ear.It has been stated that a rule of thumb is to set A-S at 1/2 to 3/4 of the VTF setting, but I haven't found that always the case. For instance, on my SL-1200 a Denon DL-103 (2.5g VTF) sounds best at 1.5g AS setting, whereas an AT440MLa (1.4g VTF) sounds best at 0.5g AS. And with the AS properly dialed in, the improvement in sound, as someone once said and everyone since says, 'is not subtle'.
