I almost forgot about this one.
The AC-1 couldn't handle large dynamic swings. It compressed them.
In this particular aspect of the sound, it is bested by the AC2 and trounced by the AC-3.I hear tell that the ZYX-branded cartridges also excel at dynamic range as well.
I guess if vocal, small ensembles, or chamber music is your thing, the AC-1 is probably near perfect, but otherwise it is flawed.
Cheers,
Me, I'm just a lawnmower, you can tell me by the way I walk....
