Transcriptor Hydraulic Reference

I have to advise a young person about the price to ask for a Transcriptor Hydraulic reference. It is the original model with all its accessories and a long SME arm and Shure V15 III cartridge. I even thought of buying it myself, but what would a fair price be?
Any ideas, of the value now? I have seen a couple with short SME on Ebay going for £500 to £550.
What is the material of the base/plinth made from. It is clearly covered with acrylic (or similar) but is the material below MDF or ply-wood? Ply-wood should be acoustically better, I think.

I have seen a number of threads stating that the Transcriptor is compromised because of its principle of partially suspending records. I see that a Nottingham Analogue Mentor Turntable works on almost the same principle as the Transcriptor, except that it has a second platter above the weights.

Would the Transcriptor not be excellent with a graphite platter? I see some of these for sale new on ebay from an Italian company. They are intended for Garrards or Thorens, but perhaps a double thickness one, could make an excellent support, better than acrylic.
A second spindle could be added.

They also sell graphite record clamps. Has anyone tried one of these?
I would be grateful for your thoughts.
