What we are referring to as the washer goes around the platters black locking nut, both are concave side up.So the locking nut tightens up around the spindle, then the so called washer goes around the locking nut.BOTH CONCAVE SIDE UP.Tawes power supply suggestion makes sense.Being in the uk I went to the Michell factory to pick up the Orbe platter kit and the then latest dc(I think)power supply,but-
I could not afford the full blown one(or they would'nt supply me with one, can't remember now)however they supplied me with a very much scaled down dc power supply unit not much bigger than the ordinary Gyro power supply and lighter. But you could easily adjust the speed by a small screw inside the unit, which I had to do.
You may have to contact Michell if you don't get a result,if so ask for steve, good bloke and most helpfull.
