Get a copy of the alignment card sent out to you.Basically, don't worry about anything at this point. Once you have the alignment card, you simply slip it over the spindle and set the stylus on the alignment card indentation. Then move the arm forward or back to establish the alignment.
There is not specific need for the pivot point to be exactly as described, since the pivot distance, the arm length and the overhang all work together to give you the Stevenson alignment used by these 3009 arms.

As Garth says you can build your own alignment card. If you pull down one of the alignment tools on vinylengine.com you can measure 60.3 mm and punch a hole for the spindle. You will find printing on thick glossy photo paper will give you the best overall alignment card.
